The Frederick debut of “Sing For the Cure, a Proclamation of Hope”

Our organization, One God ~One Voice (OG~OV), a community ecumenical choir will be presenting the Frederick debut of “Sing For the Cure, a Proclamation of Hope” on Saturday, June 6 at the Evangelical Reformed UCC Church in Frederick as a fund-raising effort for The Anne-Lynn Gross Breast Cancer Resource Center located at Frederick Community College. “Sing For the Cure” was originally composed for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  Anne Lynn, “The Singing Auctioneer”, was a well known member of Frederick’s business community, a philanthropist, a performer with the Chorale, and one of the founding members of OG~OV.

Operation God Bless America XXV

Glade Valley Home Run For A Cure Charity Softball Game

We will have a charity softball game between the coaches from GVAA and the coaches form LOUYAA. Ovarian Cancer Walk

This year the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) Frederick Chapter will be hosting their 2nd annual 5K Walk to Break The Silence on Ovarian Cancer in Baker Park, 121 Bentz Street Frederick, MD. on June 20, 2015 at 9am. Our walk is sponsored by Cancer Care & Infusion Center of Frederick and Mt. Airy, Frederick Regional Health System and Maryland Title Center. It is inspiring and energizing day for ours survivors and a day to remember and pay tribute to those we have lost to the disease. Last year, we expected 150 participants and to raise $20,000. We were amazed by the immense community support as we had over 530 walkers and raised $75,000 for awareness and research for a cure. 

We walk to raise funds but mainly we walk to raise awareness of this deadly disease. Breast cancer advocates have done a wonderful job of awareness and we are hoping to make the Teal ribbon and what it stands for better known to all women. 2nd Annual Ovarian Cancer 5K Walk to Break the Silence

This year the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) Frederick Chapter will host their 2nd Annual 5K Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer in Baker Park on June 20th 2015 at 9 am.  

Last year $20,000 was expected to be raised but over $75,000 was raised for awareness and research for a cure. Ovarian cancer is often referred to as a "silent Killer" as it has vague sings and symptoms and is usually diagnosed at a late stage.   We walk to raise funds but we mainly walk to raise awareness.

First Annual Walkersville's 3 on 3 Business Ball- Out

The First Annual Walkersville 3 on 3 Business Ball-Out event is happening on Staurday June 20th at 10am.

PraiseFest2

Our church will be holding our 2nd annual PraiseFest to bring our community together with a day of praise and worship with several bands, Disney bounce house, dunk tank, graffiti wall, games, prizes, silent auction, tournaments with food and fun for all. The theme for this year's PraiseFest is "PraiseFest for Youth." All proceeds from this event will go toward our Youth Outreach Ministry by funding activities such as camping/hiking, lock-ins, worship concerts, church camp, youth retreats and special speakers that will focus on issues that our youth face each day. Cumberland Valley Chapter Young Professionals, are doing a Family Drive-In Movie School Drive Event on August 7th.
