An Evening on the Riviera

On October 3, 2014 at 7pm your company has been requested at the 17th annual Evening on the Riviera. 42nd Annual Catocttin Antique Gas Engine Show

The 42nd Annual Antique Gas Engine Show will feature antique tractors, hit & miss engines, farm machinery, cars, trucks, flea markets and craft booths.  

Country food will be available including slippery pot pie, soups,  steamers, barbecue beef. puulled pork, suasage, french fries and fruit pies.

New exhibitors are welcome and there is no charge to display machinery and vehicles. There is also no admission fee.  This event is handicap accessible and all proceedes will be used for community activities and park maintenance.

Octoberfest of Fun

On October 4th, Valley Baptist Church will host thier Free for children of all ages Octoberfest of fun!

This event will include free admission, free rides, free games and prizes as well as music and face painting.

There will also be a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides and a dunk tank.  Enjoy food, fun and fellowship!

Culpeper Air Fest

Anticipation is building for the 15th annual Culpeper Air Fest which will be held on October 11th at Culpeper Regional Airport.

This free event will thrill spectators with performances and historic warbirds, vintage aircrafts, aerobatic performances and headlined by the world's only civilian-owned Sea Harrier jump jet!

Other performers include the Flying Circus, demos by B-25, T-82, and pitts S-1S.

Spectators will also be able to explore the facinating aircraft displays, meet pilots and crewmembers, and experiene attractions and exhibits designed to entertain and inspire the yourg and young-at-heart.

Step n' Stride

Dancing with the Arc Star

Come support the Arc of Washington County witha a night of dancing!  Dancing with the Arc Star is unlike any event you have ever attended.  Loosely based on the popular, Dancing With the Stars, television program, the event features a dance competition between three local celebrty dance couples.  A panel of judges will critique the dances, however, the winners are based entirely on money raised through audience voting.  

All funds raised will support the Arc's mission of providing "Bridges to Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities".  

Cocktail hour will begin at 6pm and feature a dancing exhibition by students from the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.  Dinner and the dance competition will begin at 7pm.

Zombie Wedding

The Hedgesville High School Theatre will present ZOMBIE WEDDING by Jeff Lovett on October 23rd - 25th at 7pm each night.  This action filled comedy is full of great physical comedy and outrageous makeup and props.  It's fun for the whole family. Proceeds from the show will benefit the HHS Thespian Society.

6th Annual Headless Horsemen 5K

Come out for this annual Halloween event! This event normally has about 400 runners and is sponsored by the Frederick High School Girls Cross Country Team.  All of the proceeds will go to help support their team events. 

Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes to the event. This event wil include medals for all 1K runners and trophies for winners of the 5K run.  Costume awards will also be presented. 

The Marine Corps Color Guard will perform durnig National Anthem and many sponsors will have tables set up.  Food will be provided by Moe's. 

 

Check in begins at noon, the 1K run will begin at 1:30pm and th 5K run will begin at 2pm. 

Come out and enjoy the fun!!

The Great Grape Race at Distillery Lane Ciderworks

The Great Grape Race is a series of three 5K walk/runs in local vineyards followed by a tasting of the vineyard's libations, music and a picnic.  


Proceeds from the events benefit the March of Dimes' mission to improveinfant health by preventing premature birth, birth defects etc.

This race is in the orchard and will require runners  and walkers to  pay attention to what they are running on.  Enjoy the beautiful scenery, wine and food! 

All registrants of a single event receive an event shirt.

This event is also part of the Burkittsville challenge, which includes The Spook Hill Cider and Wine 4 Mile Run.

Family Fest 2014

Come join ICW at Family Fest 2014 where we are going to get turned up and all cranked for Jesus on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 7:30pm, at the JBK theater on Frederick Community College campus. Featuring Naitonal Recording Artist John Bucky Tillery, Walk By Faith Go- go Band, Body of Evidence Go- go band, Levictical Psalmists, The AJ Wilson group, Kingdom Worshippers, and some of the areas finest choirs, dance ministries, mime artists, ensembles, and etcs. We will also have a talent show to win DMV's Finest which will be judged by celebrity judges. First place will receive a cash prize. The talent show and concert are two seperate entrys and all proceeds go to Deacon Jerry Calhoun Scholarship Fund to benefit high school seniors with single parents. Not to mentiion it will include face painting, food and non- alcoholic beverages. Come out and participate in this fun- filled family event. Holiday Bazaar

Boy Scout Troop 23 is hosting a Holiday Bazaar on November 1st from 9:00 - 3:00 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W. Baltimore Street-Funkstown MD. Frederick's Tuba Christmas

On Saturday, November 29th, Kick off the holiday season with an afternoon of holiday fun featuring regional Tuba & Euphonium players performing 4 -part Christmas Carols.  After a brief internmission, stay to enjoy the Weinberg's Winterfest; a sing-along featuring the mighty Wurlitzer and Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  Canned food donations for local food banks would be appreciated!
