Nikki 106.9 THE EAGLE

Nikki McKee

Thanks for listening to 106.9 The Eagle on the weekends!!

1.) I grew up in central New York but moved to Frederick a little more than 4 ½ years ago. After growing up in a really small town where everyone knows your name and story (sounded better on Cheers!), a change was welcome.

2.) I live with my boyfriend of 6 ½ years who’s pretty awesome. We have two pets, Ziggy Nibbler Stardust, our guinea pig and Jimi Jagger, our Siamese fighting fish.

3.) Hands down, my favorite Eagle artists are David Bowie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Joan Jett.

4.) To be honest, I’m not a big sports fan (don't stone me!), IF I pay attention to anything its college football (Fighting Irish and Gators).

5.) What I lack in sports interest, I make up for in my favorite TV shows and movies!  The list is pretty extensive but for the sake of space, here’s a few:

The Walking Dead, The Big Bang Theory, American Horror Story, Family Guy, and thanks to Netflix I can watch That ‘70s Show, Nip/Tuck, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Firefly still! I also have a fondness for game shows, particularly British ones. The Chase and The Cube are fantastic (the new U.S. version of The Chase is turning out to be a pretty good transfer)!

As for movies: Labyrinth (David Bowie!), Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Office Space, Girl Interrupted, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Devil’s Rejects, American Psycho, Trainspotting, Alice in Wonderland, The Rules of Attraction, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fight Club, Natural Born Killers, The Fountain, What Dreams May Come, The Big Lebowksi, Requiem for a Dream, The Wizard of Oz, and Donnie Darko. That was a few right?

6.) When I'm not working on the Eagle, I definitely still spend a lot of time surrounded by music. I love shopping in downtown Frederick at Rock n' Roll Graveyard and Record Exchange.  If I’m not watching one of the shows or movies already mentioned then I'm playing a video game, or board/card games with friends or listening to records on my turntable.
