A Full Day in City Park
Arts, history, activities, vendors, entertainment, and fireworks all come together for one of Hagerstown’s biggest fall community events.
The City of Hagerstown’s annual City Park Fall Fest returns on Saturday, September 19 from 11 AM to 4 PM, rain or shine. Fall Fest is a free, family-friendly event spread throughout Hagerstown City Park.
Enjoy pony rides, museum tours, art activities, recreation opportunities, local organizations, craft vendors, food, and more across six activity sites throughout the park.
Fall Fest is also partnered with the South End Block Party, giving visitors even more to experience throughout the day.
From Fall Fun to Fireworks
Come early, explore the park, and stay all the way through the evening.
City Park Fall Fest
Explore free family activities including pony rides, museum tours, arts and crafts, recreation opportunities, local organizations, vendors, food, and activities spread throughout six different locations in City Park.
Double-Decker Shuttle
Catch a ride around City Park aboard the Maryland Double Deckers shuttle. Stops include the Museum of Fine Arts, Jonathan Hager House, the softball field parking area, and Mansion House Art Gallery.
Fireworks on the Lake
Stay after Fall Fest for food, entertainment, balloon bending, face painting, Herbstfest at the Hager House, and a fireworks finale over City Park Lake beginning around 7:45 PM.

Fall Fest activities are spread throughout Hagerstown City Park, giving families plenty to explore throughout the afternoon.
Museum of Fine Arts
Free admission, museum exhibitions, arts experiences, and activities.
Mansion House
Explore another piece of City Park’s arts and cultural community.
Train Hub
Visit the Train Hub area and enjoy activities happening throughout the festival.
Hager House
Historic activities during Fall Fest, followed by Herbstfest before the evening fireworks.
Block Party
Fall Fest partners with the South End Block Party to bring even more community activities to the day.
Museum Drive
Shop handmade items from local artists, craftspeople, and participating vendors.

Stop into the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts while exploring City Park.
Exhibitions scheduled to be on view include:

- Kindred Spirits: Artists in the Tenth Street Studio Building
- Cumberland Valley Photographers Exhibition
Fireworks on the Lake
The celebration doesn’t stop at 4 PM.
From 5 PM to 8 PM, stay around City Park Lake for more food, entertainment, balloon bending, face painting, and evening activities.
New this year, visit Herbstfest at the Hager House for German music and a nonalcoholic beer garden before the evening finale.
Then find your spot around the lake and look to the sky. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7:45 PM.
Ride the Double-Decker Shuttle
Maryland Double Deckers will provide shuttle rides around City Park from 1 PM to 4 PM. The shuttle will make stops near the Museum of Fine Arts, Jonathan Hager House, the softball field parking area, and Mansion House Art Gallery.
Parking & Getting Around
Event Parking
Please use designated event parking lots and do not park on the grass at City Park.
The City Park Softball Field at the back of the park will provide ample parking throughout the day and into the evening for fireworks.
Enter the park from City Park Drive, continue toward the Train Hub Museum, and follow event signage and directions from Auxiliary Police.
Accessible Parking
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and Jonathan Hager House parking lots are not available for general event parking.
These areas are reserved for vendors and accessible parking.
Museum Drive will also be closed during the event except for authorized vendors and guests seeking accessible parking.

Interested in Becoming a Vendor?
The Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Department is seeking artists and craftspeople interested in participating in City Park Fall Fest.
Arts and crafts sold from vendor booths must be created by the booth holder and must be family-friendly.
Vendor space is located near Museum Drive between Key Street and the Museum of Fine Arts.
